- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp salt
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Making the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans and set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, oil and eggs and beat with a hand mixer until well combined. Add the sour cream and orange zest and mix until combined.
