  • 1 cup caramel ice cream topping

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, cream together the white sugar and 1 cup of butter. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.

In a medium bowl, combine the light brown sugar, 1/4 cup of butter, and the cinnamon. Mix until crumbly. Stir in the walnuts. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the batter in the pan. Spread the remaining batter over the crumb mixture. Drizzle the caramel topping over the top.

Bake for 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
